Notre Dame Fairfield student goes above and beyond to provide books to local youth in Bridgeport

- October 11, 2019 Max Mitchell, who is currently a Senior at Notre Dame Fairfield, recently volunteered his time and went throughout his community to collect the books that were donated to the Cardinal Shehan Center. The books were distributed to the local children and will help to enhance the center’s library. Westport resident, Mitchell, has been involved at the Center for several years both as a Summer Camp volunteer and as a basketball player. Lorraine Gibbons, the center’s Executive Director, stated “We are so grateful to Max who volunteered his time and took the initiative to collect these books and donate them to the center. Max Mitchell’s dedication is exemplary and truly admirable”. The books distributed will be used by the local youth for reading and leisure time during the center’s After School & Saturday Program, as well as, the Summer Day Camp.
